1. What is the Upper?

The 'upper' is the actual upper part of any shoe, this being the upper part of the shoe that goes against your skin, like the tongue and side-bars (the part with all the stitching on). The actual piece of leather or suede that sits inside your shoe to give it shape and protect it from dirt and damage.

2. Why is this important? In my opinion the upper part of a shoe is one of the most important parts as this holds everything together. It also gives much strength to you shoe as well as providing a design element.3. How can you wear your uppers?

Uppers can be worn in a lot of different ways, they can be worn with no socks (for when you go swimming, etc), they are very flexible and can be used to secure straps on other items, allowing you to wear them without doubt that they will hold on

4. Examples of where you would wear your Uppers:

Uppers can be worn to keep your feet warm, such as when wearing heavy boots, they can also be worn with socks/socks and toe-caps in winter. Uppers are easy to use due to their flexibility and design, and because of this we will be seeing a lot more use of the upper in the future, so it's important that we are all familiar with them now.

5. How do you make a Upper?

With the use of technology and more mass produced products, sneakers have evolved to be more elaborate than in the past. Some shoes such as Air Max can have hundreds of small functions/features to them such as heating elements, remote control capability and functioning parachute like technologies.
